We are just a year away from my oldest becoming a bar mitzvah and it’s made me do a deep dive into B’nai Mitzvah Planning! As always, I am excited to share whatever inspiration, knowledge or helpful tips I discover with all of you–and I hope you do the same with me! I am trying not to feel like I’m drowning here … but I am always open to and encouraged by the support of other Jewish parents who have had the simcha (joy) of going through this lifecycle with their children.
As is always the case with lifecycles (and living Jewishly in general for that matter), what I share here may not fit your family or community’s traditions or comfort level. We are members of a Reform Judaism synagogue and our ceremonial, ritual, and celebratory choices fit within the guidelines of our community. If you find things that don’t match with you or what you are looking for, just pass them by. I hope you still find some helpful content and inspiration here!
