I don’t think we can let a holiday go by without some fizzy play and for Lag Ba’Omer we had a super simple Bonfire Fizzy Play experience that was so much fizzy fun!
What You’ll Need
- Sensory bin
- Sticks
- Baking soda
- Bowls/containers
- Red, yellow and orange washable paint or food coloring
- Vinegar
- Pipettes
Putting It Together
- Place some sticks on the bottom of a sensory bin.
- Pour baking soda over the sticks. More than a sprinkle but you don’t need to bury them.
- Add the food coloring or washable paint, one color per bowl or container.
- Add vinegar to each bowl and stir to mix.
- Invite your kids to “light” the bonfire by transferring the colored vinegar to the baking soda covered logs with the pipettes.
- Watch the fizzy magic start and the bonfire take place!
Finished & Loving It!
I haven’t met a kid who wasn’t fascinated by fizzy play. Baking soda and vinegar is all you need to make the reaction but of course some color, and in this case, sticks!, make it even more fun!
The kids have done fizzy play so many times that they knew what to expect but they were still so excited and engaged. Another example of how sensory play never gets old and kids just really love doing it. Each time feels new because it’s never exactly the same, even with the same products or themes.
The kids loved creating their own fizzy bonfires with this Bonfire Fizzy Play!
