These Hamantaschen Lego Prints are another super simple Purim craft that combines a familiar (and beloved!) Purim symbol with some simple process art! Kids are exposed to one of the favorite treats of Purim (pair with your favorite book all about hamantaschen, like our favorite The Better Than Best Purim!) while practicing fine motor skills, exploring process art opportunities, and creating a simple Purim decoration.
We did this activity in both my house and the preschool and it worked well in both settings! Just thinking of it now … you could also turn your Hamantaschen Lego Prints into mishloach manot cards! How fun!
What You’ll Need
- Hamantaschen Lego Prints free printable
- Printer paper
- Washable paint
- Legos (we liked using the thicker 8×2 or 3×2 bricks)
- Bowls
- Favorite hamantaschen book (optional)
Putting It Together
- Download and print the Hamantaschen Lego Prints free printable.
- Squirt some paint into bowls or trays.
- Invite your child to use legos to press into the paint then stamp on the Hamantaschen Lego Prints paper.
- Let dry and hang up as Purim decorations or even include with your mishloach manot!
Finished & Loving It!
This is one of those super simple print, lay out then sit back and drink tea while your kiddos explore and enjoy crafts! But even though it’s simple, there’s still a lot of learning and development going on here!
Hamantaschen crafts are a great way to introduce, expose and review this traditional Purim treat before eating them! Let your kiddos get familiar with this yummy Purim cookie by exploring it through art (and, since you also know what I love, sensory play like here, here, here and here!).
Each time your kiddo picks up a Lego brick they are using the muscles in their hands and fingers. They are learning how to coordinate and maneuver those muscles, developing fine motor skills which will aid them in crafts, play and of course, pre-writing and writing! This Hamantaschen Lego Prints craft is an easy and fun way to practice and develop those skills.
It’s also a way for kids to explore their creativity. Process art is so amazing because it’s all about the process. With this craft they get to take a unique art instrument, the Lego brick, and do something fun and unusual with it. They also get to explore whatever colors they want. You can see my kids chose a range of colors and how they wanted them to be applied. I gave each kiddo two Lego bricks in case they wanted to do a different color for the hamantaschen “dough” and for the “filling.” They made their own choices as to colors and design.
My kids loved this quick and simple Purim craft and it worked so well for the preschool too. It’s an easy and doable way to incorporate meaningful Purim learning with other developmental skills, all while having fun of course!
