Last Hanukkah I invited my older two to play with the Hanukkah Counting/Memory/Math Fact Cards I created. Because Hanukkah + Math skill practice? Sure, why not? So long as it’s fun 😉
What You’ll Need
Putting It Together
- Print out Hanukkah Counting/Memory/Math Fact Cards printable.
- Cut out the cards.
- Laminate it you wish.
- Start playing!
- Matching game: Match the Hanukkah images on the different cards
- Memory game: Turn all cards over then take turns turning them right side up and try to match the Hanukkah images
- Counting practice: Line up cards in numerical order.
- Addition & Subtraction practice: Create math facts by taking two or more cards together and adding or subtracting the numbers. You can include paper addition or subtraction signs or just agree which one you’re using.
Finished & Loving It
We started with putting all the numbers in their correct order. Then the three of us played a memory/matching game with them. And finally I challenged my daughter to solve the math facts I presented. And when I was ready to take a break, she asked for more! Yay!
You could also use the cards to fill in the missing numbers and tomorrow I plan to work with my preschooler to match the symbols, on their own or through the memory game if he’s up for it 👍
In addition to playing all these games, it was super easy to give a short summary of why each symbol is important to the Hanukkah holiday. I really love when learning is fun and engaging, and multi-tasks 😉
