Family teas (ok, any tea!) are one of my favorite things ever and it was so special to put together this simple Tu B’Shevat Seven Species Tea! - To make the cucumber sandwiches:

- Place a few pomegranate arils on top of the chocolate.
- Let set (takes a few hours).
- To make the chocolate pomegranate sweets:

- Place pomegranate arils in the bottom of a silicone mini mold and add melted chocolate on top and let set or spoon a dollop of chocolate onto parchment paper and add a few arils on top and let set.
- Rinse some grapes.
- Set your table with whatever special dishes you want. Paper plates are always ok!
- If you have a 3 tiered tray, set sandwiches on bottom, scones next, then sweets and grapes on top. If you don’t have a tiered tray, just place all the food on separate plates.
- Set out the fig jam.
- Make tea.
- Invite your family to join you for a special Tu B’Shevat Seven Species Tea!
- I recommend also making a Tu B’Shevat Seven Species Book to review while having your tea to make it extra special (and educational, woo hoo!).
Finished & Loving It!
We had such a fun time being together, exploring the seven species and having this special tea together!
We used our Tu B’Shevat Seven Species Book to identify each of the seven species and then find them in our tea. The kids loved getting to guess which foods had each seven species. Although tasting them all was the best part!
I especially love the date scones. This was the first time I tried this recipe and they are sweet but not overly so. The fig jam makes it extra yummy, of course! I think the pomegranate arils might have been the kids’ favorite. And the chocolate too of course!
I really loved the opportunity to enjoy a morning with my family while also incorporating this type of hands-on learning. Using our Tu B’Shevat Seven Species Book and enjoying all the seven species in delicious ways during our Tu B’Shevat Seven Species Tea not only helped us review all the seven species and the holiday of Tu B’Shevat, but also gave us that extra special family time which makes our holidays extra meaningful and lovely!
