Yom Ha'atzmaut Hub - With Love, Ima

Yom Ha’atzmaut is Israel Independence Day. It celebrates the establishment of the modern state of Israel in 1948. It’s also frequently called Israel’s birthday. Jews gather together and celebrate Israeli culture with food, dance, music and Israeli flags. This is a wonderful time to learn about Israel, its geography, important landmarks, Israeli culture and have a fun time celebrating the country’s birthday.

My learning goals for this holiday are for my children to understand that Israel is special for Jews and that there is a rich Israeli culture. It is also a fun time to incorporate birthday-like celebrations to honor Israel’s birthday.
