Passover Story Sensory Bin

What’s a holiday over here without a themed sensory bin?! Like all my sensory bins, this Passover Story Sensory Bin is easy to make, gets the kids engaged and involved, and is a wonderful learning experience for the Passover holiday.

What You’ll Need

  • Bin
  • Matzah meal. Do you have an old container in your pantry? We always do! Pull it out, use it here and make way for the new container for this year’s Passover!
  • Passover symbols. This is what we used but use your imagination for whatever items you have at home! My goal for this sensory bin was to use objects that I could talk about when telling the Passover story. We have some bricks and a Pyramid to describe Jewish slavery, some plastic animal figurines to represent the different plagues, and a little person that we used as Moses. With these simple objects we can talk about the Passover story as the kids are playing with them.

Need to buy some of these Passover symbols? I always buy them in bulk and use them for years to come!

Putting It Together

1.Pour your matzah meal into the bin.

Finished & Loving It!

Having a Passover activity take just 2 minutes to set up feels amazing! And when the kids enjoy playing with it as much as mine do with this Passover Story Sensory Bin, you’ll feel like the worlds best Ima or Abba—your kids are having fun AND you’re exposing them to something Jewish! Yay!

Baby Girl was very into stacking the blocks and moving the animals around the blocks and the pyramid.

Baby Boy spent the longest time scooping and dumping the matzah meal. You’ll notice I brought out a cookie sheet and put the plastic seder plate on that so he would have more space to scoop and dump.

He also really loved maneuvering the plastic animal figurines (and his Voltron, because he doesn’t go anywhere without Voltron lately!). He got his hands into the matzah meal and really enjoyed a sensory experience as he had fun playing with the Passover symbols.
