Another super easy Passover activity that kept my younger two busy for a loooong time was this Passover themed bath! We stuck to the 10 plagues once again. I sent the kids off to find some representations in our playroom and just like with our playdough experience, we didn’t have all the (waterproof) plagues but once they were dumped in the water and I called out each plague, the kids had a great time searching for what was there and shouting out which ones weren’t.
I have never used colored bath tablets but I thought I’d try it for the first time with this activity … and yep, we used the red tablet to represent the plague of blood turning into water. Too morbid? The kids absolutely loved it and were screeching with glee that they were bathing in blood. Yikes!! But I guess they won’t forget that plague anytime soon! I couldn’t handle seeing my babies in the red water for long so quickly threw in a blue tablet and phew, purple water is a lot more soothing to a mama 😂
What You’ll Need
- Red bath tablets
- Passover symbols (waterproof)
Putting It Together
1. Fill your tub with water and add red bath tablets.
2. Add whatever Passover symbols you have on hand–animals, hail balls, whatever!
3. I also tossed in some bowls, funnels and even a paint brush so the play could continue even after we had identified the plagues (and yes, I could sit on a stool and read my fun book while they played, so everyone was happy!).
Finished and Loving It!
The kids happily played in the bath and acted out some of the plagues so it was an all-around good time! They also loved using the other items I threw in–painting the sides of the tub and dumping water on each other. Baths are a great sensory experience and when you can make them themed, they are not only fun but also meaningful as well–score!
I think these kids are now well-versed in the plagues—we are bringing on the seder plate activities tomorrow!
