What You’ll Need

  • Kraft paper, poster board, or just regular paper
  • Rosh Hashanah stickers (we ordered from Benny’s Educational Toys but you can always DIY it!)
  • Markers

Putting It Together

  1. Hang up your paper of choice. I chose to do this activity on the wall to add an additional strengthening component for my kids’ little bodies but you could definitely do this activity on the floor or table top.
  2. Set up the prompts you want to use. We did the following prompts: match the stickers, some math counting and facts, sorting of foods and non foods, color matching, sound/letter/word matching, and rhyming connection. You could use some of these or add others.
  3. Invite your child to explore and complete the prompts.

Finished & Loving It!

This Rosh Hashanah Sticker Play activity was mostly aimed at the preschooler with a little math facts for the second grader but I loved how all four got involved, especially when my oldest was helping the preschooler practice and identify sounds and their matching words, so sweet!

The prompts I chose were all ones that I wanted to encourage my kids to explore and work on. And also that they wouldn’t get too frustrated because they were above their abilities. The prompts that are appropriate for your kids may be different. I liked how the stickers, in any type of prompt, allowed discussion of the symbol and its connection to the holiday. This increases exposure of the holiday and review of its symbols in a fun way!

I got these cute Rosh Hashanah stickers from Benny’s Educational Toys. Don’t have these stickers and want to do the activity RIGHT NOW? Print some Rosh Hashanah clip art onto labels or draw the symbols yourself. I like using stickers because they are special and fun but also because they are an easy way to practice fine motor skills development.
