Sukkot is such a special holiday. It’s a time to be joyful and enjoy time and space with your family that feels different from the rest of the world.

Sukkot is the festival of booths, remembering the forty years Jews spent wandering in the desert. It’s tradition to build a sukkah (but if you don’t have the space or means to build a real one, no worries! There are many sukkot that you can build for fun and play, and even some for eating!) and eat and even sleep in it for the eight days of the holiday. Families can have so much fun decorating their sukkah in creative ways. You say blessings and shake the four species (commonly known as the lulav) and a special citrusy fruit called the etrog. And it’s also tradition to invite symbolic and real guests into the sukkah. It’s truly a time to be together, eat together, say blessings together, and enjoy this holiday together.
