Taste the Foods of Tu B’Shevat Spinner Activity

Tu B’Shevat Seders are a special event all on their own, but this Taste the Foods of Tu B’Shevat Spinner activity lets the children (and adults!) put a playful spin (pun intended ;-)) on the celebration!

Taste the Foods of Tu B'Shevat Spinner Activity

This Taste the Foods of Tu B’Shevat Spinner is so easy to make and lets the players really think about each of the foods available at the seder before they eat them. It’s a great way to teach your children (and other guests) what category the foods fall into. It also helps highlight the special seven species of food from the Torah.

Go ahead, print out the free printable, put it on your dinner table and add a new element to your Tu B’Shevat seder this year!

What You’ll Need

  • Cardstock (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Brass Paper Fasteners
  • Crayons, markers, or stickers (optional)

Putting It Together

1.Print our the Taste the Foods of Tu B’Shevat Spinner printable. If you have card stock, that will make the “spinner game board” more durable. But if you don’t have some laying around the house, just use regular printer paper! Or even colored paper–ooooh pretty!

2. Cut, or have your child cut, the outline of the circle. Then cut the outline of the arrow.

3. If they want, your children can decorate the “spinner game board” and arrow with crayons, markers, or stickers. Or just leave white!

4. Place a brass fastener through the tiny circle on the arrow and through the matching tiny circle on the big circle “spinner game board.”

5. Put the Taste the Foods of Tu B’Shevat Spinner game board on your dinner table. When it’s time to start tasting foods for the Tu B’Shevat seder, have each participant spin the arrow and see where it lands. Help them figure out what food on your seder plate matches the category on the “spinner game board.”

Finished and Loving It!
